Apologies for the post title – I blame the drugs*! The L’s I’m referring to are Laura and Lorie, the latest offerings from AnnaH Whitfield, who appears to be in somewhat of a creating frenzy at the moment, luckily for us!
The first outfit, Laura pairs a wraparound blouse, with co-ordinating pants. Shown here in green/brown and red/black, there’s also a blue option available. This is exactly the sort of outfit I love to pick from when mixing and matching – something that can be dressed up or played down as the mood takes you.
Featuring a double collar (supplied on two attachment points for convenience) which needed minimal repositioning, the long sleeved shirt has wonderful cuffs, looking starched rather than over-rigid and finished with a stud. Beautifully draped to accentuate your curves, the blouse wraps high on the waist, to meet at the back in a prim tie. The slim leg trousers, with belt to match the shirt, are a simple foil for the shirt, and also a great basic in their own right.
In both Laura pics, I’m wearing polished stone jewelry from Persona, the jewel tones of blouse and gems could almost have been made for each other. Add co-ordinating shoes (I chose slingbacks to mirror the flashes of skin from the top) and hair to suit the occasion and you’re good to go!
The second of AnnaH’s most recent release is the Lorie jacket. I thought at first I’d keep this simple with jeans and a T underneath, and it looked great – even without the t-shirt for the more daring, but I still didn’t think I was making the most of the possibilities this jacket offers. Yes, it does casual well, but with that sumptuous collar and soft sleeves I knew there was more lurking! I actually had to give up and go to my bed last night when my fuzzy head meant I was getting nowhere with finding just the right thing, and sure enough, the moment my head hit the pillow, inspiration struck.
Wrapped over a slim fitting dress (gowns won’t work as the prims sit too high, neither will a dress that relies on a system skirt for the same reason) Lorie funks up what could otherwise be a rather run-of-the-mill formal look to be more “minor Royal is dragged to opera gala but still wants to show she’s young and hip”. OK, we might be back to the drugs* again there… The bright pink of the Nicky Ree dress is striking against the black jacket, but Lorie is also available in burgundy and teal.
The final touch, was the modern glamour of the Hearts & Diamonds set by Skinkie Winkler of Flirt. This really is the sort of “fine” jewelry you expect to find in up-to-date high-end stores, the traditional gentle glimmer of diamonds set against highly polished metalwork, or smoothly shaped gemstones. The jewelry is fully scripted for resize and also texture change on the stones or metal, depending on which set you choose. I selected the striking bright silver and red jaspar, the flash of colour against black just perfect for the rest of the outfit. And of course, as with all Flirt pieces, the ARC has been very carefully considered during the creation process, the highest ARC item weighing in at just over 200.

* By drugs, I mean the cold meds I’m on to try and stop my head exploding – unless of course, there’s a more sinister reason that I can’t seem to resist my local baker’s carrot cake…
