One of the reasons this post is in three parts is that I found myself completely carried away by the wealth of photo opportunities Tempura Island provides, and just couldn’t seem to stop snapping. For example, this opulent ballroom (seen here from one of the balconies on the upper gallery to show the incredible texture of the vaulted ceiling) is too glorious not to have captured. This area of the build uses transparency to a large extent, and most effectively, but it did mean that the other two dresses I shot on Tempura couldn’t be photographed here as the transparencies conflicted. So hurrah, time to rummage in inventory and find a suitably dramatic dress that would work.
Adam n Eve’s Dernier Cri gown in Teal was just the thing I was looking for, not least for the fact it looked gorgeous against the golden backdrop of the ballroom. The skirt doesn’t use any transparency, instead the hand-drawn texturing and construction of the primwork conveys the impression of layers of petticoats providing plenty of volume. The bodice is exquisitely hand drawn, the satin fabric gently creased in all the right places and the shading is very flattering to the bust area. I also love the lacy finish to the neckline of the bodice, reflected in the deep plunge of the back.
Yet another set from Alienbear echoed the organic feel of the lace motif, whilst the Fleur skin had the perfect shade of eyeshadow. The hair is simple and elegant, yet softened by the loose tendrils.
